Half term trains at the Oxford Bus Museum

The Oxford and District Model Railway Club took Oldstead Gate to the Oxford Bus Museum, to provide an extra attraction for the February half term.

A team of three arrived bright and early at 9am, with Oldstead Gate packed in cars. The layout was quickly assembled and trains were running when the museum opened at 10:30.

A variety of club members stock was run, including a LMS D16/1, best known as 10000, and a Beyer Garrett with an impressive rake of open wagons.

Later in the day, things took a modern turn, with a double set of three car DMUs running on the layout.

We also had a selection of prizes to be won in our tombola.

Before long it was time to pack up and move Oldstead Gate back to the Collinwood Road URC where it sits ready for its next outing on the 18th February at Carterton Library.
