Ferkin Halt

Not having much space at home for a full size layout I was looking for something that I could build to be able to operate small locomotives with a variety of small rolling stock. After watching a video online about the smallest radius you could achieve in 00 gauge by Budget Model Railways I decided to give it a shot.

I have created Ferkin Halt to be operated via DCC but due to the size and only being able to feasibly have 1 loco running at a time it can be used on DC also. This is the first module in what will be a series of these tiny railways being made by myself and some other friends. The idea being to be able to have 1 railway which can feature numerous settings and be operated by numerous operators.

Ferkin Halt features:

  • 18 inch radius curves achieved using flexi-track.
  • 2 internal sidings which will feature an engine shed, coaling stage, and water tower.
  • A forested area to semi hide the siding which will lead on to other same sized units.
  • Small station halt.
