Petit port is another Z gauge layout from Peter McConnell. It represents a small train ferry port somewhere in west Europe. Passenger trains arrive from Holland, France and Switzerland into a through main line station. An Orient Express may make the occasional appearance. Freight trains may be additionally from Germany or Belgium not all of it destined for the ferry. For embarkation the main line loco is detached and the stock taken by diesel shunter to the loading dock.
The layout is very much under construction and currently you can see that the track is a mixture of Peco flexible track and Marklin points. This is all laid on 5mm foamboard into which is buried the the wire in tube for operating the points.
The scenery is only just started but the intentionis that there will be a small oil terminal next to the station and a warehouse/industrial area adjacent to the dock. A backscene of half relief buildings and a hill-top village at one end will add life to the layout.
Petit Port has now been sold.
