FantaZie is a Z gauge layout from Peter McConnell a member of OMRC. The design is an end to end layout set in Europe, somewhere near the French border. International traffic is plentiful with frequent visits by German, Belgian, Swiss and, of course, French trains.
Mainline trains enter Hauteville, a terminus station with run-round loops from which a branch line descends a 1 in 35 incline to Autreville where all freight is handled.
Autreville is served by a 'push pull' passenger service and also sees occasional express trains from various places.
Freight trains are mainly block trains consisting of fuel oils, ferry vans and steel coil. A long siding from Autreville gives access to the unloading points and to a fuel distribution depot.
All locomotives, rolling stock, track and points are Marklin - expensive but well engineered. Buildings and scenery are from a variety of sources. Road vehicles from Kibri, Marklin, Z Club (G.B.) and Graham Avis.
The layout was built by Peter McConnell with help from members of OMRC. It has now been sold.
