At the start of 2007 the then chairman of OMRC looked for inspiration to do more modelling and came upon the idea of a modelling competition with a difference. OMRC already had the Jim Briggs memorial trophy for an item of modelling exhibited at the Annual Exhibition.
The inspiration led to the special challenge for 2007 - to build a layout, ready for the Witney 2008 exhibition, that would cover no more than 8 square feet. Note the chairman still hasn't gone metric.
Several layouts have been started and most will be completed. Their presence on this website is likely to drive them further to completion.
The layouts that members have admitted to building are:
Sandpits Estate - Andrew Burchett has built a 1" to 1' layout.
Oxford Victoria - Ron Alcock has built a OO layout.
Mospick Halt - Stuart Taylor has built an OO9 layout.
There are others but they are currently in hiding. All the layouts done will be exhibited at OMRC 2008 exhibition at Witney.
